Tournament Categories & Prizes : Novice & Intermediate


Novice & Intermediate Scoring Format (32 teams / category)

  • Group Stages (Round Robin): Rally 15 points (sudden death)
  • Quarterfinals : Rally 15 points (sudden death)
  • Semifinals & Finals / 3rd-4th place: Rally 21 points (serve to win at 20-20)


Top 2 team in each group advances to knockout rounds.

  • Results determined first by total match wins-loss. If there would be a tie, total points (win-loss) difference will be taken into account followed by head to head; as last resort would be a coin toss.


Prize distribution will be adjusted based on participation rate as tabled below.


📘 Novice & Intermediate Rules & Regulations


Eligibility & DUPR requirements


1) Players must be 18 years and above as of tournament date


2) Valid DUPR ID required. DUPR rating will be taken as of Registration date. (Registration closing date 1 June 2026)


3) NR Players are allowed only for Intermediate Category (<3.25) and Podium winners allowed however Suspicious manipulation of Ratings and Duplicated accounts will be subject to disqualification without a refund.

a. Manipulation from Social DUPR matches are not allowed. Review period starting from 01 January 2026.

b. If suspected manipulation or duplicated account, protest needs to be provided with documented proof. Protest is allowed even on tournament day up to 1 week post tournament. If found true, winners will be subject to disqualification. (Winning Prize will be paid out on 21 June 2026, after event concluded.)


4) Novice Category (<2.75 DUPR) accepts DUPR rating up to 2.759


5) Intermediate Category (<3.25 DUPR) accepts DUPR rating up to 3.259


6) Substitutions of players are not allowed after draw is finalized.


7) In the event that a registered player is unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances, a partner replacement may be allowed prior to the tournament, subject to the following conditions:

a. A valid reason with documented proof must be provided for the replacement to be considered (e.g. injuries, sickness or emergencies).

b. The replacement player must meet the eligibility requirements, including age and DUPR rating criteria of the division entered and is approved by the Organizers.

c. The change is subject to approval by the Tournament Director. Replacements that may impact the tournament seeding – particularly for top-seeded teams, may be rejected.

d. No replacements are allowed once a team has played its first match, regardless of the reason.


Match Officiating

  • Round Robins, R16, Quarterfinals : Umpires/TOs will assist with scorekeeping & results submission.
  • Semi Finals & Finals : Referees will officiate the matches with score keeping & foot faults.
  • Call out score loud & clear before every serve to avoid score dispute.
  • Receiver makes line calls.


**In the event of any dispute, players should :


1) Resolve the matter respectfully within the match on court.


2) Replay the point if needed.


3) If issue remains unresolved, Referee is called to steps in.

a. Point will be replayed.

b. Match from then on will be called by Referee with no dispute allowed.


Players Conduct :

  1. All players are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play throughout the Tournament.
  2. Unsportsmanlike behaviors’, verbal abuse, or misconduct may result in immediate disqualification or other disciplinary action, at the sole discretion of the Organizers.
  3. Any disputes must be raised immediately with the Referee or Tournament Director during the match. Only disputes concerning score discrepancies or rule violations will be considered, and no retrospective challenges shall be entertained after the match has concluded.


Additional Notes :

1) Time Out :

a. Round Robins : No Time Out

b. All Knock out Rounds (R16, Quarters, Semi, Finals) : One 1min Time out per team

c. Injury time out. Max 10minutes (Total); Inability to continue = withdrawal


2) Late arrival (past 10 minutes) = walkover / forfeit


3) Players must ensure personal fitness to participate


4) Organizer holds no liability for injuries or incidents


5) All match results will be submitted to DUPR


6) Players responsible to ensure no clash in matches. In the event that there are clashes, players are required to choose only 1 match to play and the other match will be deemed as a walkover / forfeited.


7) Prize money will be distributed 1 week after event ended, on 21 June 2026.


8) Organizer reserves the right to cancel / postpone / modify the event.


9) In case of event cancellation, full refund will be issued otherwise no refund.


10) Tournament Director has final authority on disputes.

Team Event Scoring Format (By Invitation Only)

  • Group Stages (Round Robin): 002 11 points
  • All 3 games will be played (Mixed Doubles 6.0 , 7.5, Open)
  • Semifinals : 002 15 points
  • Best of 3 of combined DUPR (Live draw on sequence)
  • Finals / 3rd-4th place: 002 15 points
  • Best of 3 of combined DUPR (Live draw on sequence)

2) Each players can only play one game in each match

a. Example : Match Team 1 vs Team 2, if Player A has played in Mixed Doubles 6.0, Player A cannot play again in Mixed Doubles 7.5 or Open.


3) Players must be 18 years and above as of tournament date


4) Team Captain must play in at least 3 matches of round robin.


5) Valid DUPR ID required. DUPR rating will be taken as of Registration date. (Registration closing date 30 April 2026)


6) NR Player (DUPR 2.5) and Podium winners are allowed but Suspicious manipulation of Ratings and Duplicated accounts will be subject to disqualification without a refund.
